The Young Alumni Council hosted a reception on Thursday, September 27, 2005 at Stool Pigeon's Coop & Grill in Richmond.
Alumni from the School of Education Alumni welcomed their new interim dean, Dr. Beverly Warren during a reception at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens on October 20, 2005. VCU Alumni Association President Dr. Jo Lynne DeMary and Dean Warner welcomed the group.
On November 1, 2005 launched its largest construction project ever when it broke ground on its $228 million Monroe Park Campus addition which will feature the new School of Business and an expansion of the School of Engineering.
The VCU Alumni Association, the schools of Engineering and Business alumni boards, the African American Alumni Council, and the Young Alumni Council hosted the Alumni Tailgating Area at this year's "Chill and Grill" Pre-game tailgate party prior to the homecoming basketball game. |
Alumni of the Richmond Professional Institute (RPI) held their reunion on April 28 - 30, 2006.

On May 5th, The VCU School of Mass Communications was awarded full accreditation on a unanimous vote during a meeting of the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC).
